Inkspell ( Inheart Part-2)

Hey guys', as said earlier this blog is about the second book of the Inkheart trilogy. In my previous blog, I had explained the story of Inkheart in brief. If you have not read the book, go there and read its summary to get an idea. Now let's see what happened in the next part.

First of all, time for some surprises in the Inkheart. Capricorn dies. Why, when, who defeats him you'll have to read the book and see. Meggie too was a Silvertongue. Fenoglio entered the Inkworld. Meggie's mother was in the real world. When Capricorn was trying to recruit his army and was trying to read people out of the book, she had also accidently come out. But, alas her voice was gone.

In Inkspell, Dustfinger wanted to go back to his world ( most commonly known as the Inkworld ) to his wife and children. Farid ( who had become his companion and his student for learning art of fire), was with him and he too wanted to go to the Inkworld with him. Here comes another character in the story, Orpheus. He too like Mo was a Silvertongue and liked Dustfinger a lot. So, when asked he obediently sent Dustfinger back to the Inkworld but left Farid behind. He said that he was unworthy of going to the Inkworld. Farid was heartbroken.

He lived with the Folcharts and when Dustfinger disappeared, he went back to the house and told Meggie about it. Meggie's mother had told her all about how interesting and beautiful the Inkworld was. Of course, she couldn't speak so she drew and showed Meggie different kinds of things she witnessed there. Mo was not interested in Inkworld because he felt it was a cursed place which had took her wife away from him. When Meggie heard what Farid had told her, she asked him about the piece of paper on which Orpheus had written the words to send Dustfinger to the Inkworld. She thought a lot and finally decided that she will read herself inside the book. Farid insisted on coming too. So both of them went inside the book into the Inkworld and witnessed many adventures ahead them.

\Mo and Resa ( her mother ) were very disappointed when they came to know about Meggie and Farid gone to the Inkworld. Her aunt, Elinor and a stuttering Silvertongue, Darius ( they had found him in Capricorn's palace ) were also with them. Suddenly, their house's door opened and inside came two familiar faces. The Magpie ( Capricorn's mother ) and Basta with Orpheus. The Magpie wanted a revenge on the Folchart's for killing her son. She ordered Orpheus to read them to the Inkworld so that she could kill them all. But when Orpheus read, only Mo, Resa, Magpie and Basta had gone inside. Elinor, Darius and Orpheus were left behind.

After coming to the Inkworld, the Magpie shot Mo and ran into the deep forest. Resa while screaming for help, got her voice back.

Fenoglio was still writing the book and kept on writing new twists and turns in his book which actually happened in the story. Confusion increases when he uses Mo as his model for a new character - 'Bluejay' who was kind of a savior of the people. He writes poems and recites it in the royal court. Everyone was in search of him and when they see Mo, they mistake him for the Bluejay.

Now, everyone was in the book, but they didn't even know where they were.

The characters in the Inkworld :

1. The Laughing prince- He was the father of Cosimo the Fair. He was also known as the 'Prince of Sighs' because of his son's untimely death.

2. Cosimo - The son of Laughing Prince.

3. Violante - Wife of Cosimo.

4. The Adderhead - He was a tyrant who feared only death. He was the ruler of the other side and had a castle - The castle of night.

5. Roxanne- Dustfinger's wife.

6. Jacopo - Son of Cosimo and Violante

7. Minerva - Fenoglio's landlady

8. Brianne - Daughter of Dustfinger and Roxanne.

9. Black Prince - A knife thrower and Dustfinger's best friend.

This story is really exciting and very long. In this blog I tried to cover the few main points which tell you the brief of the story. The other minute things you'll have to read in the book itself. Now I hope I could explain the story and the characters well and it made you feel as if you were really in some different world. The story is even more interesting. So don't wait, try to read. I will soon put up a blog about the third book - Inkdeath.

If you have any good books which you have read, please write in the comment's section. I will surely try to read those and write about it too. And also, tell me how you found this blog and the book.
